The Ideology of Selfishness (Key to Happiness)

Self Love Selfishness is the key to happiness

The world can be very unforgiving, morality is often the harder choice, its easier to not sacrifice something for someone else. its much easier to do something for yourself  over someone less fortunate, yet ironically we find ourselves doing the opposite for our peers. often times people find themselves doing things they wouldn't do for themselves just to earn the validation of others. the popular term people pleaser best describes such people, one way to interpret this relationship is that the individual gets validation of peers which overpowers the validation of themselves and their own self. its not wrong to seek the validation of others. we are social beings, social validation is the unspoken currency of the society. This currency can sometimes come at the expense of our self.

In psychology the concept of self goes deeper than then literal sense. Your self is everything you believe about yourself, what your capabilities are , what you deserve, what you should be , what is in your control etc. as such a common characteristics seen in great figures is a strong sense of self. the confidence, in what one is capable of and what is in control of is what makes them truly great. A strong sense of self gives you the greatest conversational skill to have, the ability to say "no". It is not a small thing, for someone who constantly defines themselves by the validation of others, to say no. moreover the people pleaser archetype often has the opposite effect on peers, being perceived as a pushover and available. People should not view you as easy or available, that just grants people the permission to take you for granted. Such individuals will definitely prosper with the ideology of selfishness.

Concept of  "I"

The first step is to Define "I" this letter includes you and everything you consider close enough to include in your world. the kind of people you would think about if you move abroad. The idea is that the "I" is the only thing that you should put any efforts towards because this is the only thing that matters the most. its just you and everyone/thing you consider your world.

now the next step is usually an eye opener for a lot of people.

Imagine you have a kid, you want to shape him to be the best best version of yourself. most good parents want to. You want to pamper that kid, in every way but also take care to not spoil him. you wont tolerate other kids treating your child unfairly, or taking advantage of him. now think of yourself as the kid. do everything you wanted to do for that kid, for yourself. from the eyes of a parent would you realize that you deserve better. Easily because for any concerned parent their child is their beloved and they want to give them the world. apply the same concept on yourself. what you think your child deserves, give yourself that.

This step is the most practical one.

People generally tend to stick around people they find are more endowed in certain area or the other. Appearance , talent , fame, wealth either of these things can be attracters. to counter or attract something similar is to have pride and confidence in something you can do. it doesn't have to necessarily be unique, you should just strive to be better than the people around you.

So far one can think that the entire article is more catered towards selflove than selfishness. which is true both can loosely be used for each other. the selfish nature of this ideology comes from the practice of  no sacrifice. unless you can dispense a commodity(time, items ,money) or unless it gives you happiness you should not sacrifice. being a good samaritan is not necessarily selfless, one might do it for happiness, one might do it for a self of power. you should not be guilt into doing something.

Lastly, Have the capacity for violence.

the capacity for violence doesn't mean to be physically violent, it means to have an option that is under your control. in any situation you should always have an option that you have the authority over. if you don't have the capacity to be violent, then your not virtuous for being a good person, its just your nature -your state of being. you cannot be anything else. there is no virtue in that. a tree drops its fruits not because its virtuous but because that's the only choice it has. In any interaction, if you are with people, it should be apparent that you could do something else and despite that you are there. That means more , than always being there for their beck and call. this part can be very ambiguous and should be interpreted how you wish to set your own narrative.
